New from Nike 6.0 comes an extreme sports video entitled “The Chosen” as well as some fascinating behind-the-scenes insight from its star athletes and producers. According to director Lance Acord, the inspiration for the piece was the question: “How do we take these different riders and make them a part of a band – take what they do and put it on a stage?” The sport/art hybrid film emphasizes that self-expression can be achieved through many different channels including music, sports, painting, graffiti, cinematography and more. Definitely worth checking out!
Despite being one of Nike’s oldest models, the Air Max 90s are clearly dope and versatile enough to continue receiving a lot of attention from the brand’s design team. Following on the tail of their lime green and cobalt/orange releases, Nike Sportswear drops images of an energetic black and yellow colorway. Although they may lack an abundance of originality, these kicks’ use of grey and black as base colors accented by bright pops of yellow make them ideal for summer. Due for release in July
Nike Sportswear releases two new iterations of their popular Air Max 90 just in time for the sidewalk to start heating up. Both kicks come in summer-friendly colorways of Nike fan-favorite hues accenting more basic shades to keep them fresh and wearable. The first pair – which combines mandarin orange with royal blue and black details – should be a big hit for Knicks fans. The second colorway is mainly black, white and grey but highlighted by bright pops of neon lime green. As always, the Air Max 90s are crafted from a nubuck and mesh upper featuring a leather trim and the iconic contrast-colored Max Air unit in the heel.
Nike SB is trying to make a serious comeback this year. This upcoming release of the Nike SB Dunk Hi “Red Devil“, is an all red suede shoe that features minimal black accents. These look mighty crispy and are most likely due to ship in the fall 11 SB collection. No word on an exact release date on these, but as soon as we know something, we shall let you know.
As an emerging arena for youth culture and skating, Nike SB’s recently released “Support Your Local” video utilizes China as its urban playground in an extensive cut. China’s own eclectic surroundings combining contemporary foreign archeitecture with that of its own age old buildings makes for some creative backdrops.
