New from Nike 6.0 comes an extreme sports video entitled “The Chosen” as well as some fascinating behind-the-scenes insight from its star athletes and producers. According to director Lance Acord, the inspiration for the piece was the question: “How do we take these different riders and make them a part of a band – take what they do and put it on a stage?” The sport/art hybrid film emphasizes that self-expression can be achieved through many different channels including music, sports, painting, graffiti, cinematography and more. The Pool from Nike was more than a BMX comp, it was one of the most extra-ordinary gatherings of the BMX community this century. From the draining of a soon-to-be-demolished local authority swimming pool in Dagenham, East London, into a world class park in less than two weeks was a feat in itself, but to see the diversity and level or riding on display at the launch event was truly remarkable. 40 international riders with a brand new team format saw non-comp riders, veterans, street destroyers and park animals all throw down into something far better than they could have dreamt of.

Inspired by the DeLorean DMC-12, Nike 6.0 Introduces the Limited-Edition DeLorean Nike Dunk, a Fusion of Innovation and Style. Influenced by the DMC-12′s aerodynamic design and trademark characteristics, Nike reinterpreted the car’s sleek stainless steel exterior into a matte silver, no-sew constructed upper while also taking cues from the gull-wing doors on the bottom eyestay. The shoe’s outsole references the Delorean’s tail lights and the DMC-12′s rear window shades reappear as graphic lines on the heel replacing the traditional stitches. Meanwhile, the Belfast stamp on the tongue is a nod to the Irish factory that originally produced the vehicle.
Like the rebellious, rare and flashy DMC-12, the DeLorean Nike Dunk champions the unexpected by making a statement. This super limited-edition shoe will be available starting on November 26th, Black Friday, at Niketown locations, Salvation (Irvine, CA) and select nationwide retailers.
